The Vaganova Academy of Brownsville’s mission is to train dancer's for extraordinary lives, utilizing the Vaganova Method of Ballet. VAB strives to develop ballet students of the highest technical skill as well as of high moral character. Vab is about inspiration and hard work, giving dancers the opportunity to discover joy for the arts, develop confidence, gain high self-esteem, and to find their drive and leadership skills. VAB hopes to benefit the Brownsville and surrounding communities through open community classes, outreach programs, performance opportunities, and scholarship programs. We aim to inspire children from all backgrounds and provide classes for students of all abilities. Our comprehensive outreach program serves to build bridges for the community and the organization, ensuring sustained involvement, ongoing engagement with participants and partners and local program impact.
Offering access and inclusion into the world of ballet through open community classes at little or no cost to participants helps us provide our local youth a pathways for access, inclusion, and promote new, as well as future, audiences for ballet. Also, these low cost classes help us identify potential community talent for our school who may be eligible for VAB’s need based scholarship program.
$5 OPEN COMMUNITY CLASS DATES WILL BE ANNOUNCED SOON!
VAB plans to offer $5 Open Community Classes utilizing the park and stage on market street in Brownsville. These classes are meant to benefit the local youth of our community, by providing a low cost opportunity to be introduced to the classical art of ballet. These classes are designed for children of all ages and abilities, no previous training required. Students who attend these classes will have the opportunity to perform with VAB in the Ballet Under the Stars Community Performance.
